Oskar Söderström founded Oskars Surströmming in 1955. He created the first barrel of fermented herring the same year. Oskar was not satisfied with the outcome at first. He did not give up; instead, he gradually refined the product. Soon he reached perfection, and his surströmming was ready to be launched onto the market. In 1966 the first can came with the name Oskars. This product contains 5-7 fermented herrings. Net weight 300 g.
